'Coronation Street' newsagent Norris Cole has decided that the single life isn't for him, prompting him to make a surprise proposal to one of the local ladies.
According to the show's official website, Norris is dreading the prospect of being lonely in his old age.
He asks his friend and business partner Rita Sullivan out for a special lunch, which worries her.
Later he proposes to her, suggesting that they keep each other company in their old age by sharing the rest of their lives together.
But poor Rita isn't enthusiastic about the proposal and tries to find a way to let Norris down gently.
