Dermot - discussed job with Thornton

Dermot O'Leary has revealed that Kate Thornton gave him her blessing when he took over her job as presenter of 'The X Factor'.

O’Leary replaced Thornton on the talent show after she was sacked at the end of the last series.

Digitalspy reports that the 'Big Brother’s Little Brother' host insists there are no hard feelings between the two presenters. He revealed: "I called Kate the day I took the job before it went out and it was important for me to do that. She was very gracious and a lady.

"The way I look at it is, it's a job. There is a fraternity amongst presenters but we're not coal miners, I mean I'm not a scab. Kate finished with the X Factor and it was all done very above board."

He added: "I was offered the job and it's the biggest show on television, so I'm not going to turn it down." O’Leary has not yet made up his mind if he will host another series of 'Big Brother’s Little Brother'.
