Italian opera singer Luciano Pavarotti has been the go ahead to leave hospital by his doctors, according to his manager.
Although Terri Robson said that the tenor will be released "imminently", his wife Nicoletta Mantovani told reporters outside the clinic that he had chosen to remain for a few more days.
Pavarotti, 71, was admitted to hospital in his hometown of Modena in Italy on 8 August suffering from a fever. He had surgery for pancreatic cancer last July.
Robson told the Associated Press news agency that reports of Pavarotti suffering from pneumonia were "completely exaggerated."
"He is looking forward to getting back to teaching his young singing pupils as soon as he is out of hospital and next month plans to get back into his Modena recording studio to resume work on his new album of sacred songs," she added.
