Booker nominee Enright for Edinburgh Book Fest

Irish author Anne Enright, named on the 2007 Man Booker Prize longlist, will be taking part in this year's Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Seven out of the thirteen longlisted authors - Mohsin Hamid, Nikita Lalwani, Ian McEwan, Michael Redhill, Indra Sinha, and AN Wilson - will be participating in events at the festival, which opened on Saturday and runs until 27 August.

Other Irish writers that will be taking part in the festival include children's fantasy author Darren Shan, Joseph O'Connor, who recently published 'Redemption Falls', his eagerly awaited follow-up to international hit 'Star of the Sea' and IMPAC award winner Colm Tóibín.

The Man Booker Prize for Fiction will unveil a six-strong shortlist on 6 September, and the winner will be announced at the Guildhall in London on 16 October.
