There is speculation surrounding why Amy Winehouse was rushed to hospital yesterday.

The Sun newspaper claims she suffered a drugs overdose and was given an emergency adrenaline shot.

However the official line from her spokespeople is that Amy was treated at London's University College Hospital for "severe exhaustion."

A spokesman for Winehouse's label Island Records said: "Amy Winehouse was admitted to UCLH this morning suffering from severe exhaustion.

"Amy was discharged from the hospital this afternoon and has been advised to take complete rest. Scheduled performances in Norway and Denmark this week have been cancelled."

Winehouse had been due to appear at the Oya music festival in Oslo, Norway, on Wednesday night.

Festival organisers had said Winehouse had cancelled without any explanation.

The set is a latest in a string of several gigs the singer has recently cancelled, citing exhaustion or ill health.
