American pop star Prince opened his 21-night residency in London last night with an accomplished show.
The singer will be performing a series of shows at the O2 Arena, formerly the Millennium Dome.
During a two-and-a-half hour set, which included four encores, he played several of his classics, including 'Purple Rain', 'Kiss', 'Let's Go Crazy' and 'Nothing Compared 2 U'.
He also did cover versions of the Beatles' 'Come Together' and 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley.
According to reports, Prince has rehearsed 150 songs for his residency and he will play a different selection each night.
With sales of over 80m albums, the singer is one of the world's most successful recording artists.
His residency continues at the O2 Arena until 21 September.
