'Ugly Betty' star Eric Mabius has defended Victoria Beckham, who is due to make a cameo appearance in the show soon.
The actor, who plays Daniel Meade in the show, described Beckham as a "brilliant woman".
Mabius said: "She catches a lot of flak in the press in England, and I don't know why exactly, because she's a very eloquent, highly functioning, brilliant woman."
"I went to the UK Glamour awards so I spent a little bit of time with her, and she couldn't have been sweeter and more well-spoken - just cool," he said.
Beckham is reportedly due to star in an upcoming wedding-themed episode of 'Ugly Betty'.
