Socialite Nicole Richie has announced the she and her boyfriend, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden, are expecting a baby.
Confirming the pregnancy to ABC's Diane Sawyer in an interview that will air on US TV tomorrow, Richie said: "We are. I'm almost four months."
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty on Friday to driving under the influence of drugs; she was sentenced to four days in jail.
She must serve the sentence by 28 September and has been placed on probation for three years.
Commenting to Sawyer, Richie said: "I have a responsibility and it's something that I did wrong, and if I could personally apologise to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would."
She continued: "Unfortunately I can't, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult."
