Actress Lindsay Lohan has proclaimed her innocence after being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and possession of cocaine.
The 21-year-old star reportedly sent an email to US television show 'Access Hollywood', saying: "I am innocent".
According to reports, the show asked Lohan if there was anything that she wanted to "to get out there" about her recent arrest.
Lohan reportedly replied to the request by sending an email to Billy Bush of 'Access Hollywood'.
The email read: "Yes. I am innocent... did not do drugs, they're not mine."
She also played down rumours that she was chasing her assistant's mother just before she was arrested.
The actress concluded the email by saying: "I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy".
Lohan was arrested early yesterday and later released on bail. If convicted of the charges she could face up to a year in jail.
