'The Sopranos' has been nominated in 15 categories for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards in the US, including Outstanding Drama Series.
There were nominations in the acting categories for cast members James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, Aida Turturro, Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli and guest star Tim Daly.
The show's creator and executive producer, David Chase, received two of the series' three writing nominations and 'The Sopranos' also made the shortlist in the directing, cinematography, editing and sound mixing categories.
'Ugly Betty' received 11 nominations, the most for a comedy this year, with stars America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams and guest stars Judith Light and Salma Hayek among the nominees.
'Grey's Anatomy' received 10 nominations, with stars TR Knight, Chandra Wilson, Katherine Heigl and guest stars Kate Burton and Elizabeth Reaser competing for acting honours, and the show vying for the Outstanding Drama Award.
Other shows to receive multiple nominations included: '30 Rock' (10), 'The Office' (nine), 'Heroes' (eight), 'Entourage' (seven), 'Desperate Housewives' (six) and 'Lost' (six).
The winners will be announced on 16 September.
