Actress Samantha Seagar is set to leave 'Coronation Street' when her current contract expires.
According to the show's official website, Seagar, who plays Jodie Morton in the show, will leave Weatherfield at the end of the year.
Seagar said: "Working on Coronation Street has been an amazing experience but I have spent the last two years living away from my family."
"After meeting with producer Steve Frost last month we have decided to rest the character of Jodie so that I can pursue projects closer to home."
Producer Steve Frost said: "We are working towards a storyline which will see the character of Jodie leave Weatherfield around November but the rest of the family will remain living in the Street and we may well see her return at some point in the future."
