'Emmerdale's Carl King begins to work his charms on DCI Grace Barraclough and soon the pair end up in bed together.
The detective, played by Glynis Barber, has been searching for Tom King's killer but believes Carl, played by Tom Lister, is innocent of the crime.
Next week, Barraclough agrees to go to dinner with Carl in order to try to get some information out of him. She believes that his older brother Matthew may be responsible for the murder.
According to the show's official website, actress Barber said of her character: "She's absolutely convinced that it's Matthew."
"I don't think she has any idea that it's Carl. She doesn't see his behaviour as suspicious."
"She just sees him suffering because of his father's death and she sees him as another victim of Matthew's. Grace thinks that Carl probably knows Matthew did it and is having to deal with it."
