Young Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has been cast opposite Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling in director Peter Jackson's adaptation of the Alice Sebold bestseller 'The Lovely Bones'.
Variety reports that the 13-year-old will play Susie Salmon, the murdered girl who observes her family and killer from heaven.
Filming on 'The Lovely Bones' will begin in October in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.
Ronan, who previously starred in the RTÉ TV series 'Proof' and 'The Clinic', also stars in the upcoming Catherine Zeta-Jones movie 'Death Defying Acts' and this summer shoots 'City of Ember' with Bill Murray in Belfast.
