'Coronation Street' star Steven Arnold has reportedly apologised to the cast and crew of the show after a full day's filming had to be scrapped because of his absence.

According to Digital Spy, the 32-year-old actor, who plays butcher Ashley Peacock in the show, went to Granada Studios yesterday to film the scenes he missed last week.

A source said that he apologised to all those members of the cast and crew who had to wait for him on Friday. He is reportedly due to meet producer Steve Frost later in the week.

A Coronation Street source said: "Steven has apologised to his fellow cast and crew and everybody involved in the hold up on Friday."

"Unfortunately, Steven has been unable to meet with producer Steve Frost today as it was decided that filming the missed scenes were essential in keeping the filming schedule rolling."

"Steven will, however, officially meet with the producer later in the week."
