Fans of the Harry Potter books have started an online petition imploring author JK Rowling to continue with her books about the schoolboy wizard.
Fans do not want her to stop writing books about Harry Potter after the publication of what she has said will be the seventh and final title, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows', on July 21.
Rowling has said that two characters will die in this book. There is considerable speculation that one of them will be Harry himself.
Bookseller Waterstone's has launched the Save Harry campaign at www.waterstones.com/saveharry, saying "If Sherlock Holmes, Dennis Watts, Superman, and Bobby Ewing can all come back from the dead then surely reincarnation shouldn't be a problem for the world's most powerful boy wizard - and that's presuming that he dies at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
Although Rowling has indicated that she plans to write an encyclopaedia about all the Hogwarts characters, spells and place names, she has been adamant that there would be no more stories.
However, a statement was released over the weekend, saying: "As [Rowling] said on Friday night in her BBC interview with Jonathan Ross - never say never."
"It's not saying that she definitely is [going to write another title] and it's not saying that she definitely isn't. I cannot comment further."
The latest film in the series, 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix', will be released this Thursday, 12 July.
