'Britain's Got Talent' winner Paul Potts has revealed that he contemplated suicide after being bullied at school.

The 36-year-old singer told Hello! magazine: “There was a lot of name-calling and I was regularly beaten up. It turned me in to a loner."

"I never told my parents. Somehow I felt it was my fault. I bottled it all up," he said.

"There were some low times. I used to cry myself to sleep. In my darkest moments I thought about killing myself."

"I also thought about self-harming. I even considered throwing myself down some stairs," Potts said.

The singer, who topped the public vote in the final of the talent show, has recently signed a £1 million recording contract.
