Mobile phone salesman Paul Potts has been voted the winner of the reality show 'Britain's Got Talent'.

The 36-year-old topped the public vote after his performance of 'Nessun Dorma' in last night's final.

Potts earned a place in this year's Royal Variety Show as well as a cash prize.

Speaking after he won, Potts said: "I feel like jelly. It means like absolutely everything thank you for believing in me."

"I don't think there's any way to describe this. It just leaves me speechless. Absolutely speechless," he said.

Piers Morgan, who was acting as a judge on the show, said: "You've earned it, you've deserved it and I can't think of anybody I'd rather see represent this show at the Royal Variety Performance."

Among the acts that Potts beat last night were 6-year-old singer Connie Talbot and Damon Scott and his singing monkey.
