Socialite and reality television star Paris Hilton has been moved from a medical ward to a detention centre to serve the remainder of her jail sentence.
Officials confirmed that the 26-year-old was taken from the Twin Towers jail in downtown Los Angeles to the Century Regional Detention Centre in the suburb of Lynwood last night.
Celebrity website TMZ.com reports the star is now in the medical wing of the detention centre.
A law enforcement source reportedly said: "To describe Paris as emotionally upset would be an understatement."
