Isaiah Washington won't be returning to 'Grey's Anatomy' after the show's producers, ABC Television Studios, decided not to renew his contract option for next season.
43-year-old Washington, who played Dr Preston Burke in the hit medical drama, was at the centre of controversy after he used an anti-gay slur at the Golden Globe Awards in January while denying he'd used it previously on the 'Grey's Anatomy' set against co-star TR Knight.
In a statement, released through his publicist and referencing the famous line from the film 'Network', Washington said: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."
