Soul singer Amy Winehouse has revealed she is happy to quit music and become a mum.

The newly wed star said her destiny in life was to be a "wife and mum."

Winehouse married Blake Fielder-Civil in Miami last month.

The 23-year-old spoke to US magazine Rolling Stone about giving up her successful career to be a stay-at-home mum.

She said: "I know I am talented, but I wasn't put here to sing. I was put here to be a wife and a mum and look after my family. I love what I do but it's not where it begins and ends."

The pair were spotted screaming at each during a furious row after the MTV Movie Awards in LA on Sunday where Winehouse performed, but she says the pair have always had a fiery relationship and many of the songs from her Back To Black album were inspired by her first split from Blake.

"I had never felt the way I feel about him about anyone in my life. I felt terrible about the way we treated each other," she said.
