Reese Witherspoon is planning to star in a remake of the 1939 Claudette Colbert-starring comedy 'Midnight'.
The original film told the story of a young woman in Paris who becomes involved in a wealthy man's bid to stop a gigolo wooing his wife.
Variety reports that the script for the new version will be written by Michael Arndt, the Oscar-winning writer of 'Little Miss Sunshine'.
Witherspoon will produce the film through her company Type A Films, but it will not be her next starring project.
