The new series of 'Big Brother' will reportedly see 12 women entering the house tonight, with one man due to join them at a later date.

According to the Daily Mirror, the new female housemates will be joined by a "real hunk" on Friday, with more men being introduced to the show over the coming weeks.

An insider told the newspaper: "It will be a hilarious start. The girls' behaviour will be fascinating. The first man in will be a real hunk - so the girls can flirt and fight over him."

Channel 4 has not yet revealed the identity of the new housemates but reports suggest that the line-up includes the cousin of a Premiership footballer, a lap dancer, a political protester, a cleaner and the show's oldest housemate yet.

The station did confirm some details about the housemates, revealing that two of them have children, nine are single and three have never been on a plane.

One of the contestants set to take part in the show was a child prodigy, who could read by the age of two.

Another housemate is a member of the Women's Institute, which inspired the film 'Calendar Girls' when a group of its members posed nude.

It has also been revealed that some of the housemates will be forced to share beds.

Aerial shots of the house have shown that there is a secret garden hidden away from the main house.

The contestants will be warned to watch their behaviour in the house this season after the celebrity version of the show sparked complaints of racist bullying.
