Simon Cowell has admitted his latest ITV show 'Grease Is The Word' is a flop.
His latest talent show is getting beaten in the ratings battle by 'Any Dream Will Do,' which is broadcast on BBC1.
In an astonishing attack on his own show he says that the critics were right to have 'slaughtered' it.
He has conceded that it is far too similar to his other shows, particularly 'The X Factor'.
British newspaper The Daily Mail quotes him as saying his TV hunt for a new Danny and Sandy "is not going as well" as he had hoped adding "It's been slaughtered by the critics and rightly so."
He compared the failure of the show, which is presented by Zoe Ball and includes David Gest and 80s pop star Sinitta among its judges, with another of his productions, a dating programme called 'Cupid' which flopped in the US.
However, these are rare blips for Cowell who, it was revealed earlier this week, has doubled his vast fortune to £200million after selling another of his TV shows around the world.
