Officials drop Oprah extortion charges

Officials have dismissed charges against a man who was accused of trying to extort $1.5m dollars from Oprah Winfrey.

Keifer Bonvillain, from Atlanta, was charged in Chicago last December with trying to extort money by threatening to injure a person's reputation.

Bonvillain must complete a year-long programme during which he must perform 50 hours of community service as well as undergoing drug testing, attend classes or work regularly and pay $3,000 restitution to the FBI.
