Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys on Novello shortlist

Songs by Amy Winehouse and the Arctic Monkeys have been nominated for the prestigious 2007 Ivor Novello Awards for songwriting.

In the Best Contemporary Song category, soul singer Winehouse ('Rehab') is up against Hot Chip's 'Over and Over' and Bodyrox Ft Luciana's 'Yeah Yeah'.

Arctic Monkeys' 'When The Sun Goes Down' is up for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, alongside Nerina Pallot ('Sophia') and Scott Matthews ('Elusive').

The International Hit of the Year category is between Scissor Sisters ('I Don't Feel Like Dancin'), Robbie Williams ('Rudebox') and Madonna ('Sorry').

Both Madonna and Scissor Sisters are also shortlisted for the same songs in the Most Performed Work category, as well as 'Put Your Records On' by Corinne Bailey Rae.

The 52nd Ivor Novello Awards will take place in London on 24 May.
