'EastEnders' is set for a dramatic rescue storyline when Ian Beale's twin children Peter and Lucy become trapped in a car that has plunged into a lake.
According to The Sun, the crash will be the biggest stunt ever filmed for the soap.
Ian Beale, Phil Mitchell and Billy Mitchell reportedly escape from the car as it slides backwards into the lake, with Peter (Thomas Law) and Lucy (Melissa Suffield) still inside.
Phil (Steve McFadden) then dives into the lake after the car and attempts to free the children.
A soap insider told the paper: "It's our biggest stunt to date. Steve spent hours in a tank for his scenes."
"It was a real grind filming it all but the results are spectacular," the source said.
It has not yet been revealed whether Peter and Lucy will survive the accident.
