Footballer David Beckham reportedly spent €160,000 whisking his wife away on a trip to Paris for her 33rd birthday.
The former England captain treated his wife to a 12-hour trip to the French capital, which was mostly taken up with shopping.
She had booked private sessions at several shops and spent a reported €100,000 on jewellery, cameras and clothes in the high class Marais district.
One notable purchase, reports British newspaper the Daily Mail, was a pair of €2,200 high heels by designer Christian Louboutin.
The pair's choice for the rest of the evening - a room at the Ritz hotel and hiring out the whole of trendy Guy Savoy restaurant - would have cost an estimated €20,000.
The trip was apparently a surprise trip from David. "Victoria was overwhelmed," said a source. "She thought she was going to have a Chinese meal with David and the boys."
