Actress Zaraah Abrahams is set to leave 'Coronation Street' when her current contract expires.
According to the show's official website, the actress, who has played factory worker Joanne Jackson for two years, will leave in July.
Producer Steve Frost said: "Zaraah is a great actress but it is the nature of soap that characters come and go as in real communities."
"She has made a great contribution to the show but the way the storyline develops means that we have to say farewell to Joanne for the time being. We wish Zaraah well for the future."
Abrahams said: "I have had the most amazing time at 'Coronation Street' but am very excited about the future."
"Having played Joanne for two years and prior to that a long running character in 'Girls in Love' I am looking forward to getting the opportunity to play some new roles."
"When I first joined 'Coronation Street' it was on a short term contract so I am thrilled to have been here for two fantastic years."
