There was chaos at the Malawian orphanage that pop singer Madonna was visiting yesterday when school children began throwing stones at reporters to keep them away from the singer.
Police also blocked journalists from following Madonna into the grounds of the orphanage, saying: "We are under instruction from the orphanage not to allow any press to go in because it is a private visit."
However, Madonna later tried to calm the scene by inviting the journalists to join her inside the Home of Hope orphanage, where she posed for pictures with David Banda, the young boy she is in the process of adopting.
When asked how it felt to be back in Malawi at the orphanage where David had previously lived, Madonna said: "It feels great".
Sources said that the boy's biological father Yohane Banda also visited the orphanage and spent time with his son during the singer's visit.
