American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Marc Anthony, have filed suit against the National Enquirer in a series of European courts, including Belfast, Dublin, London and Paris.
The suits against the US-headquartered publication are in response to an article on 12 March that appeared in the tabloid's British and Irish editions linking the couple to a drug scandal.
Their lawyer, Belfast-based Paul Tweed, specialises in fighting American libel cases in European courts.
He told Reuters that Lopez and Anthony were seeking "substantial damages", as well as a retraction and apology over an article that alleged the celebrity couple were linked to a drug scandal.
Last year Tweed won an apology from the National Enquirer for Britney Spears over an article claiming she was about to divorce her husband.
