Nicole Kidman was presented with an Order of Australia medal at a ceremony in Canberra earlier today.
The Oscar-winning actress was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia, which is Australia's top civil honour, last year but film commitments in the US and her wedding to singer Keith Urban delayed the presentation.
She was honoured for her contribution to cinema as well as her charity work with women, children and cancer research.
Kidman is also a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
She is currently in rehearsals to play an aristocratic Englishwoman in the Baz Luhrmann-directed epic romance, 'Australia', to be filmed over the coming months.
