At a court hearing in Los Angeles yesterday, rapper and actor Snoop Dogg was given a three-year suspended sentence.
The rap star, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, pleaded no contest to gun and drug charges that date from last October.
He was also sentenced to five years probation and will have to perform 800 hours of community service.
Broadus entered the no contest plea, reportedly as part of an agreement with prosecutors, to a charge of gun possession by a convicted felon and a marijuana-related drug charge.
If he was convicted of the charges he could have gone to jail for four years.
