Peter O'Toole is in final negotiations to star in a new film called 'The Christmas Cottage', which is based on a painting by American artist Thomas Kinkade.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the film will be part biographical and will look at the events that influenced Kinkade to become an artist.
O'Toole is in final negotiations to play painter Glen Weissler, who is based on one of Kinkade's mentors.
The film is due to go into production this month in Vancouver, Canada.
