Concert promoters MCD have announced that they will enforce a strict age restriction at this year's OXEGEN music festival at Punchestown.

All persons under 17 must to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must be 25 years or older.

This follows on from the enforcement of age restrictions at last weekend's My Chemical Romance concert, after which a total of thirty-four refunds were made.

All persons under 16 attending the concert had to be accompanied by a parent or guardian of 18 years or older.

As with OXEGEN, this age restriction was a condition of sale, was clearly stated on all tickets and was publicised in the weeks leading up to the event.

For OXEGEN, a passport, driving license or Garda ID card will be required to gain entry to the concert.

Otherwise people can obtain a full ticket refund from their point of purchase until 5pm on Friday 13 April. After this date refunds will not be available.

Any person under 17 attending OXEGEN who is not accompanied by a parent or guardian 25 years or older will be refused admission without a refund.
