Jason Alexander, best-known for his role as the misanthropic George Costanza in 'Seinfeld', has joined the cast of the pilot episode of a new, as-yet-untitled police comedy series.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the series follows the eccentric characters in a police station with Alexander playing the internal affairs superintendent.
While Alexander will guest star in the pilot, the character has been developed as a regular.
If the series gets the green light, Alexander will play a recurring character during initial episodes and will become a regular if the show's run is extended.
