'Desperate Housewives' star Jesse Metcalfe has checked into a rehabilitation facility, according to his representative.
The 28-year-old actor, who is currently dating Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, is seeking treatment for "alcohol issues".
According to People magazine, his spokesperson Susan Patricola said in a statement: "On Monday, March 19, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues."
"He realised he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately," the statement said, adding that the actor "hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment".
Metcalfe was reportedly banned from a Hollywood hotel recently after "mistreating" staff there.
