With the second series of 'Prison Break' set to draw to a close on US TV next month, it has been confirmed that the action thriller will be returning for a third season.
Variety reports that the storyline for the third season will have an international dimension and at least four new non-American cast members, two men and two women, will be joining the show.
Speaking to Variety, the show's executive producer, Paul Scheuring, said that much of the storyline for the third series was already worked out before it was given the green light yesterday.
"We already knew where we were going," he said. "Most of the major players are returning, but it will be a reconceptualisation (sic) again, just like it was in season two."
The second series of 'Prison Break' will be shown on RTÉ Two later this year.
