'Veronica Mars' star Chris Lowell is the latest actor to be cast in the special two-hour episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' which could lead to a spin-off series from the hit medical drama.
Variety reports that the name and description of Lowell's character remains a secret; he plays Piz in 'Veronica Mars'.
The plot for the special episode is a closely guarded secret but it will feature Dr Addison Montgomery-Shepherd (Kate Walsh) and the possibility that she could leave Seattle Grace Hospital, a storyline that would come into effect if the episode leads to a full spin-off series.
Others who have been cast in the special episode include: 'Chicago' star Taye Diggs, 'Prison Break' star Paul Adelstein and former 'Wings' star Tim Daly.
