Penélope Cruz is to star opposite Ben Kingsley and Patricia Clarkson in a drama based on the Philip Roth book 'The Dying Animal'.
Variety reports that the film tells the story of a student who has an affair with her professor and appears years later with bad news.
Production on the film is due to begin in Vancouver, Canada next month.
The film will be directed by Isabel Coixete, whose credits include 'My Life Without Me' and 'The Secret Life of Words'.
