'The Lives of Others', the winner of this year's Oscar for best foreign language film, is to be remade in English, according to Daily Variety.
The German spy drama was written and directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.
It tells the story of a secret service agent who is instructed to observe and listen to an artistic couple.
His fascination with their lives has tragic consequences.
The project will be developed by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, together with filmmakers Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella.
