Former 'ER' star Julianna Margulies has inked a deal to play the lead role in the pilot episode of a new drama series called 'Canterbury's Law'.
Variety reports that the actress will play a brash defence attorney trying to find a balance between her courtroom and home life.
Margulies, who played Carol Hathaway in 'ER', will serve as a producer on the project.
Since she left 'ER' in 2000 she has been approached to star in a number of pilot projects, but 'Cantebury's Law' marks the first she has signed up to.
The pilot episode will be directed by Mike Figgis, whose credits include 'Leaving Las Vegas' and 'Internal Affairs'.
