Actor Ryan Phillippe has spoken about his split from actress wife Reese Witherspoon, describing it as "the most difficult time" of his life.
Speaking to TV show 'Extra', in an interview due to air this week, Phillippe said: "I must stay focused on my kids."
Phillippe and Witherspoon were married for seven years before they separated last November.
Witherspoon later filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason. The couple have two children together.
Phillippe said: "It's unfortunate when you have kids... but I signed up for this and have to deal with it."
"I don't read the magazines or watch the shows... It's hard when people follow me to my kids' school."
The actor previously told People magazine: "I'm not a perfect person, but I'm not guilty of a lot of the things I have been accused of. My priority is and always has been the health and safety of my family."
