'Prison Break' actor Lane Garrison, who plays Tweener on the US drama, could be charged with manslaughter and drunken driving for a car crash that killed a teenage passenger and injured two others

Police investigating the crash have asked county prosecutors to make the charges against the actor, but the charges are yet to be filed.

According to the report into the incident, a test of Garrison's blood following the crash alleges that he had a blood alcohol level of over 0.15%. It also alleges that his blood contained traces of cocaine.

Garrison's Land Rover jumped a curb and struck a tree 02 December, killing 17-year-old student Vahaghn Setian and injuring two 15-year-old girls also in the vehicle. Garrison suffered minor injuries.

Garrison's attorney, Harland Braun, said the police decision to announce details of the investigation before charges have been filed was "a totally irresponsible thing."

"It was basically a public trial designed to influence potential jurors," Braun said.

Braun said he had not yet seen any of the evidence or police reports on the investigation.

If charged and convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter, Garrison could face up to 10 years in prison
