Shilpa Shetty - Viewers were confused about voting

'Celebrity Big Brother's double eviction will go ahead tonight despite a blunder in a voting announcement earlier this week.

The show's bosses yesterday apologised to viewers who were confused about how to vote to evict Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty after a mistake during the voting announcement.

At the end of Wednesday night's show, the message which flashed up on screen incorrectly told fans to call a number to save Shilpa, not evict her.

The voice-over then told viewers to call the same number to evict Shetty, leaving the audience confused.

Channel 4 confirmed that all votes cast before last night would be cancelled out and the voting process restarted.

Endemol, the production company which makes the show, released a statement saying: "This was a genuine mistake which was due to human error."

"We apologise to viewers and feel the best way to rectify it is to cancel the vote so far and reopen the voting."

"Following this error the profits from Friday night's reopened eviction voting will also go to charity."
