Salma Hayek is to star in, sing in and produce a new Spanish-language romantic comedy called 'La Banda'.
Variety reports that the film tells the story of a wealthy housewife whose husband leaves her.
In financial difficulty, she starts working as a singer for a wedding band and, as the band's popularity increases, finds it more and more difficult to keep the job a secret from her well-heeled friends.
A soundtrack album, featuring Hayek, is also planned.
