Lily Allen is leading the field for this year's Brit Awards, after being shortlisted in four different categories.

The 21-year-old singer has been shortlisted for Best Female Solo Artist, Best Breakthrough Act, Best Album for 'Alright, Still' and Best Single for 'Smile'.

Snow Patrol, Muse, Gnarls Barkley, Corrine Bailey Rae and James Morrison have all secured three nominations.

Irish singer Damien Rice has made the shortlist in the category for Best International Male Solo Artist, where Beck, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson and Justin Timberlake are also listed.

The nominees for Best Male Solo Artist are James Morrison, Jarvis Cocker, Lemar, Paolo Nutini and Thom Yorke.

Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae, Jamelia and Nerina Pallot will compete against Lily Allen in the category for Best Female Solo Artist.

Contesting the category for Best International Female Solo Artist are Beyoncé, Cat Power, Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado and Pink.

In the running for Best Group are Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Muse, Razorlight and Snow Patrol.

The Best International Group category includes The Flaming Lips, Gnarls Barkley, The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Scissor Sisters.

In the Best Album category, alongside Lily Allen's 'Alright, Still', are Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black', Arctic Monkeys' 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not', Muse's 'Black Holes & Revelations' and Snow Patrol's 'Eyes Open'.

Shortlisted for Best International Album are Bob Dylan's 'Modern Times', Gnarls Barkley's 'St Elsewhere', Justin Timberlake's 'FutureSex/LoveSounds', The Killers' 'Sam's Town' and Scissor Sisters' 'Ta-Dah'.

In contention for the Best Live Act award are George Michael, Guillemots, Kasabian, Muse and Robbie Williams.

Competing against Lily Allen in the category of Best Breakthrough Act are Corinne Bailey Rae, The Fratellis, James Morrison and The Kooks.

The shortlist for Best International Breakthrough Act includes Gnarls Barkley, Orson, The Raconteurs, Ray Lamontagne and Wolfmother.

In contention for the Best Single award are Corinne Bailey Rae's 'Put Your Records On', The Feeling's 'Fill My Little World', James Morrison's 'You Give Me Something', The Kooks' 'She Moves In Her Own Way', Leona Lewis' 'A Moment Like This', Lily Allen's 'Smile', Razorlight's 'America', Sandi Thom's 'I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker', Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars', Take That's 'Patience' and Will Young's 'All Time Love'.
