Media watchdog Ofcom has received 4,500 complaints about alleged racism in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house.
Viewers believe that Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is being targeted by other housemates because she is Indian.
The complaints claim that Jade Goody's mother Jackiey repeatedly referred to Shilpa as "the Indian", saying that she couldn't pronounce her name properly.
Over the weekend former beauty queen Danielle Lloyd and ex S-Club-7 singer Jo O'Meara mocked Shilpa's accent.
Jade Goody has also complained about the actress, saying: "She makes me feel sick. She makes my skin crawl."
A spokesperson for media watchdog Ofcom said: "Quite a lot of websites have been discussing the issue and urging people to get in contact with us. We will look into each individual complaint."
Last night Shilpa ended up in floods of tears because of how some of the other housemates are treating her.
Former Steps singer Ian 'H' Watkins said: "It's turning into that film – 'Lord Of The Flies'."
Singer Jermaine Jackson then asked him: "Were they bullying Shilpa last night?" Ian replied: "Yeah. I'm not playing those games. I'm not going to be part of it."
Jermaine later said to Shilpa: "Jade can't read you because she's not on your level. It's like going to a meeting and it all going over your head. You have to stay true to the person in your heart."
Evicted housemate Carole Malone said that she feels the incidents are not racist but are motivated by jealously.
"Shilpa is too good-looking for her own good," Carole said in an interview with BBC Asian Network.
"She's an incredibly powerful and beautiful woman. She is a very strong woman and can handle it. I spoke to her about it when I was in the house."
