The RTÉ Two-screened comedy series 'Ugly Betty' won two awards in the television categories at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills last night.
The show's star, America Ferrera, was named Best Comedy Actress and 'Ugly Betty' was also named Best Comedy Series. Alec Baldwin won the Best Comic Actor award for '30 Rock'.
The award for Best Drama Series went to 'Grey's Anatomy'; Hugh Laurie was named Best Actor (Drama) for 'House' with 'The Closer' star Kyra Sedgwick winning the Best Actress (Drama) award.
The miniseries 'Elizabeth I' won three awards: Helen Mirren was named Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie; her co-star, Jeremy Irons, was named Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie and 'Elizabeth I' also won the Best Miniseries or TV Movie award.
There were two awards for 'Gideon's Daughter': Bill Nighy was named Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie and his co-star, Emily Blunt, was named Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie.
