Bindi Irwin, the 8-year-old daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, is not being put under any pressure to appear in the spotlight, according to her manager.

Bindi, who stars in a new show called 'Bindi, the Jungle Girl', is embarking on a tour of the US, which will include live shows and high-profile television appearances.

John Stainton, Irwin family manager, said: "My criteria is if Bindi doesn't want to do it that day, if she wants to go to the zoo or the beach, then that's what we're doing."

"There's no pressure on her to do anything at all," he said, adding that this week would be a difficult week for all the Irwin family.

"You can't keep reliving it, reliving it, without it hurting," he said.

Following criticisms that Bindi was too young to cope with the pressures of fame, Stainton stressed that the 8-year-old could pull out of any engagements at short notice if she did not feel up to appearing in public.
