Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am has announced that he is to work with Michael Jackson on the singer's comeback album.

Speaking to Billboard.com, will.i.am said that he had already been involved in "a lot of talking on the phone, a lot of brainstorming" with Jackson about the album, which is tentatively due for release before the end of 2007.

"Man, he still sings like a bird," will.i.am said. "He could go anywhere. I think we have a real opportunity to do something here. It's either gonna be really big or nobody's gonna care. Ain't no middle ground on this one."

Will.i.am has previously produced songs for Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Nas and his Black Eyed Peas bandmate Fergie.
